I'm gunna give up footy.
I will without a doubt,
'Cos me footy boots are knackered and me toes are sticking out.
Me joints ache something terrible every night when i'm in bed ,
I used to have a bit of pace, but now ..... best left unsaid.
I've got a dodgy ankle an' also a dicky knee
And all them funny crooked things where me fingers used to be.
Yeah, I'm gunna give up footy an' have a CAT scan of me brain,
I've been concussed five times or more , but I'm not one to complain.
But Saturday comes, it's out in the paddock and into the lion's den .
Ten minutes into the second half an' me hamstring goes again.
Now , footy's not a ladies game, you get bloodied, bruised and battered.
But when you pull on the red and white, it's like there's nothing else that mattered.
But the love of footy and the smell of linament can sure destroy your reason.
For just today, without a thought , I signed up to play next season!
